With 1 Week to Hand in

I have added in windows and sky lights to my model and all that is left is to animate and model some optional extras.
Colour Schemes I have looked at and have inspired the colour schemes of this Interior Design:

I like the smooth, dark, but relaxing colours, it gives a sense of privacy and intimacy, the blue lighting is especially therapeutic, and works well in a spa environment.

Again, Blue Lighting has been used here, and looks equally effective although used in a different way. The light smooth walls look good although I think that the floor and the wall should be kept separate patterns as the pattern becomes repetitive and sore on the eyes.

The mixture of smooth and dark colours look well within this interior. The blue lighting has been used again and is extremely effective as it makes the water look very interesting.

Although I was going to change the colours of my interior, I have decided that they are nice colours for the sort of feeling I aim to portray, I could mix the colours around a bit but the blues, blacks and natural colours seem to work well within any swimming pool interior and so I will stick with this.

Some Layouts I'm working with. The best ones will be printed A2.

Naming my project

I had began by naming my project 'Splash Design' until I discovered that the name has already been taken. I wanted to name it something easy to remember but which relates to the project, a sort of self descriptive name. I began by thinking of the space in regards to its design. It is an interior which caters for all user needs. It is an interior which makes alot of use of glass and reflective surfaces. It is an interior which has specific areas designated to specific users, although all areas are visible to all users. It is a type of swimming gallery where learners and professionals can see what others are doing.

3ds Max Work, getting to detail.

I have continued on by looking at textures and reflection and creating water, and glass. I done this by playing with transparency, ray trace, bump, and reflection. Note the detail in the tiling, I wanted to make the tiling look realistic and imperfect, I moved a few tiles slightly up and rotated a few in order to acheive this look. I decided rather than using images of tiles to create the materials, to make a texture that resembled a sort of rough, slate style tiling. My next step is to look at caustics, I want the light to shine through the water on the glass floor on the top floor down through to the bottom floor to create a nice lighting effect. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caustic_%28optics%29) I was going to texture the walls aswell but im not sure now as I like them plain, maybe I will add a bit of glossiness to them to create more reflection and add some more windows.
